A time to pause.
A place to seek God.
Capitol Worship is a monthly Christian worship service held in the United States Capitol for members of Congress, staff, and guests.
Through music, prayer, and biblical encouragement, it offers an opportunity to pause, seek God, and find renewed strength amid the demands of serving on Capitol Hill.
Sunday worship services were held in Statuary Hall from 1800 to 1869. In 2014, these services were renewed, bringing the power of God’s Word and presence in a fresh way.

Faith and fellowship
in the heart of the Capitol.
Since 2014, these services have provided opportunities for teaching, preaching, and praise.
Each gathering creates time to worship together, hear God’s Word, and receive encouragement for the responsibilities of life and service on Capitol Hill.
Services are normally held in a meeting room on the first floor of the United States Capitol.
Rooted in the Word.
Lifted in worship.
Teaching & preaching
Proclaiming the Word of God in the United States Capitol is essential.
Preaching for each service is provided by a member of Congress, a visiting pastor, Pastor Dan Cummins, or Pastor Cary Schmidt of Emanuel Baptist Church in Newington, Connecticut.
Worship & Praise
Times of worship are led by Steve Amerson, bringing those gathered together in song and praise as they turn their attention to God.
There is something powerful about songs of praise and worship echoing through the halls of the Capitol. God indwells the praises of His people.
2027 service dates
Dates for the services for 2027 will be announced when the 2027 Congressional calendar is released.
